Never Purchase Sears Central Air Conditioner

3 months after Sears installed their central AC units, the central air conditioning unit caused water to back up into our air ducts and our CEILING COLLAPSED! Sears is blaming their installers (actually, Sears outsources their installation to contractors so Sears does not even take responsibility for the install) and of course the installer is not taking responsibility for the damage.

We have had to fix our ceiling (the gaping hole from the collapsed ceiling!), have water damage specialists clear out the water, replace hardwood floors, carpeting, the chandelier, and repaint the walls. Sears has not taken any responsibility and has not paid for any of the damage.

They have simply handed over the responsibility to their installer who has in turn denied responsibility. We will NEVER purchase anything from Sears again. We had paid more for a Sears central air conditioning unit since we trusted the name and assumed it guaranteed a great product and install instead of purchasing from other smaller companies.

Instead, we have been treated worse by this large company - terrible customer service and no responsibility for their work or product. If you are considering a Sears product, I would strongly urge you to purchase elsewhere. It is definitely not worth the money.
