Goodman Central Air Conditioner System Happy

We moved to Florida at the end of 2003. We had a complete central air conditioner system. 13 SEER Goodman including air handler installed in May 2004. The central ac system has work fine but for a starter condenser failing this year (2010)$200, to replace. The starter condenser did not leave us cold or hot but I was told it is necessary part to prolong the outside unit’s life?

Since we live in Florida our Goodman system gets a lot of use. The central ac unit runs 24x7 at least 9 months a year and the heat is on about 1 month per year. I agree with other post that who installs and maintains your system is as important as the brand you purchase.

My only thought on my central air conditioner system is that I wish I had purchased a two stage unit. Two stage units are quieter and remove more moisture then our single stage system.
