Goodman Central Ac Is Not Worth Buying

1 week after installing Goodman central ac the compressor went, couldn't get a replacement central ac unit and had to have compressor replaced. Less than a year later the copper tubing has rubbed together and created a hole.

The new problem is not warranty related so add another $450 to the cost of the central air conditioner unit. I would not recommend these Goodman (crapmen) HVAC units to anyone.

In the heat again this year

Well neither Goodman or the local installation contractor want to take responsibility for my unit. My house was built new.

The unit has broken every year and twice one year. Last year 2 parts were replaced and then they figured out that the compressor was broken.

They added antifreeze and cleaned the unit and it is broken again this year. It cost me $10,000 to put the unit in. I was argued down each year over a labor bill that was 200.00 the first two times. $400.00 last year.

And I had to argue the contractor down last year over the bill after they threatened to sue me. Now you tell me whos the blame i'm in the heat again this year and Goodman is closed on Saturday.

large company refused to back products

after buying a Goodman 5 ton unit model # aph156m41aa Goodman refused to back their reverser value that has had to be replaced twice already and Goodmans reps replied that it is a manufacture defect but company refused to pay for labor or parts etc and the unit is not even 5 mos old and when the units where replaced from a 3.5 ton unit you would think that it could keep the house cool but it is sorry in that field as well all models are junk if it is a Goodman or Amanda both are the same company

mafacture cousmiers afairs department likes to pass the buck that it is the loacal contracter but the contractor had nothing to due with the revers vauel breaking and looseing the freeon when alls the loacal contractor does is hook the thermosut wirewing and the 220 volts from the junckstion box to the unit and they don't have to get inside of the copper tubbing that is all done from the manfacture and they refused to back their products

My unit was in when I bought the house and my ac runs all day long.Had someone look at it did not know way it stood on all day.

Since the components in the system are manmade there will occasionally be defects. Goodman did not manufacture the compressor, they bought it from a compressor company and it sounds like Goodman honored the warranty. The copper tubing rubbing together appears to be from a sloppy repair job by the installing contractor. Neither Goodman or the compressor manufacturer is responsible for the slip shod work by the local contractor.
As a contractor if one of my people had done this type of job I would have made it good at no cost to my customer.
