Central Air conditioning Capacitor

We have power going to an central air conditioner,I think its the capacitor, I bypassed the capacitor and the compressor came on. but I'm still not sure,so if anybody has a suggestion on to confirm its the capacitor!

i replaced the capacitor it controles comp and fan the comp runs but the does not thefanis good
