This morning my husband and I woke up to a freezing house. Our thermostat (which we set at 72 degrees) showed 62 degrees and the air conditioning was still running. I cut the air off completely but the outside unit (heat pump) came back on as soon as I turned the inside thermostat on (this time, set at 74 degrees).
I cut off the circuit breakers but, again, the heat pump came back on as soon as I turned on the inside thermostat.
The unit is a Bryant and is 10 years old. Help! It's supposed to get to over 100 here today and we have to go to work and leave the house all day!
