Why Is My Central Ac System Leaking

by Robert
(Illinois)

So, the tubing the is coming from my central ac unit that’s located in my basement has recently had quite a bit of condensation...Enough, in fact, to create water spots on my drop ceiling tiles. Why do these tubes collect so much condensation and leak? Any easy fix?

It has been quite hot here; recently it has hit triple digits. The central ac unit has been struggling to reach whatever temperature I set my unit for. It typically gets within 2 degrees of what I set my air conditioner at. Is there a problem here, or anything to worry about?
Any help is greatly appreciated!
