Unusual Behavior to My Central Air Conditioner

by Victor R.
(Newark, NJ)

Central air conditioner unit is running weird. First the rooms weren’t getting cold, so I called in a technician and he put in Freon. After a day of coolness it started to get warm.

The reading on the thermostat was increasing so I called in the technician again and he said it could be a bad thermostat. I brought a new one and it was installed. That work but for about six hour “literally”.

So I called the technician once more and he can’t figure out why it gets cool and stops working or continues to cool . We’re both stumped! There’s no leak and he said he put a lot of Freon to make it work. Can you help.

Not Sure

You said, the central air conditioner unit is running fine, but it not cooling. You also said the technician add the correct amount of refrigerant.
I don’t know what to tell you.

If the compressor or any electrical parts are bad, the technician should know.

You could provide me the serial and the model number. I could look into.
