What are the indicators that Ac Freon needs to be added to my central air conditioner unit?

The homeowners is the indicators! The homeowners tell the technician the problem and he troubleshoots.

I'm guesses you meant, how does technician knows when to add air conditioner refrigerant.

There are a lot way to determine that. Here is few way.

1. Use thermometer to find our the temperature different for the evaporator coils.

You can also put thermometer in the supply grilles and read the air temperature

2. Use superheat and sub-cooling slide charts.

3. Some use Psychometric Chart

4. Connect gauges to read sub-cooled and superheat.
